Viento Fresco Waterfall Reviews
My wife and I visited the waterfalls while staying in the Tronadora area. The waterfalls themselves are really good. Not the best I’ve seen, but worth a visit. The young guy at the ticket office assur... more »

A late morning decision to go for the hike to see the falls with our 5-7-9 yr old kids. (I would not recommend much younger as there are quite a few steps) They had a blast and even joined for the swi... more »
This was absolutely amazing! Worth the 2 hour drive from the coastal Guanacaste region! You pay at the Google maps location and then drive down the "road" across from the orange office and restaurant. It was a wet day which would have the made the drive down and back up very difficult without 4 wheel drive, so strongly recommend considering that. The hike down to the waterfalls was not easy. Plan to have sturdy footwear that can get wet and muddy and that provides good traction. Handrails are not very sturdy and there were some slippery and loose dirt areas of the trail. The waterfalls were amazing to behold and offered excellent photo and video opportunities. Try to get to all of them! Beautiful views of the valley on the way down and some amazing flora and fauna. Hire me to be your guide in Costa Rica! Would definitely go back with others who have not been to it.
Jaw droopingly beautiful. We had lunch included for $10 which was basic but very yummy, I would definitely recommend having lunch too. You can’t drive to it without a 4x4. Waterfall walk was not difficult apart from dodging the banana spiders.
Visited today. Place was easy to find. Very welcoming family. Definitely recommend a 4x4 vehicle with relatively decent clearance to get down the road to the 2nd parking lot where the hiking starts - LOTS of bumps in the road and worth taking your time. Hike was enjoyable. Waterfalls were breathtaking. Downside is that they have 2 taps that are labelled as having drinking water, neither of which worked. Wasn't a huge deal since we brought our own, but we were a sweaty mess by the end and could have used the extra hydration. We swam in the 3rd waterfall. Was fairly shallow and not a lot of rocks on the bottom. Thrilling experience. Would rate moderate difficulty. Essentially 1km uphill on the way back. We both do the stair master on a regular basis and this had us out of breath. There was only one other couple there at the same time, so if you're looking for something less crowded and off the beaten path, this is a great way to go. $16 per person, money well spent.
Very secluded, amazung tracks and views. A lot of spiders though!
Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area!
