Tenorio National Park, Costa Rica
Categories: National Parks, Nature & Parks
Featuring four volcanic peaks and two craters, Tenorio National Park offers numerous hiking trails passing lagoons, waterfalls, and rivers. As you walk, keep your eyes peeled for tapirs, ocelots, and pumas. Observe the park's river, colored light blue thanks to the abundant emissions of volcanic sulfur. Stroll around geysers and thermal hot springs before you reach the peak with a panoramic view, or devote all your time to exploring some of 130 sq km (50 sq mi) of swimming areas and picnic spots. The park's amenities include first aid stations, restrooms, and access to clean drinking water.
