  • 1 day rafting tour. The transportation was a comfortable ride out to the Operations HQ. There we had breakfast and could leave bags in a lock-up area. On the next short trip to the river, the guide provided a fairly comprehensive overview of what to expect on the river and what to do in different situations. He also responded to all questions. Once assigned to a raft, the respective guide explained all the commands and we set off. The rafting was amazing! The fact that our raft worked well as a team made the experience even more enjoyable. The guide was knowledgeable about the wildlife and pointed out plants and animals in the slow sections of the river. Worth the cost for a full day of fun.
  • Great family experience. All staff members are nice and experienced for this type of adventure. The food and service in there restaurant is great, probably the best food I had during my stay in Costa Rica. Would recommend this company for a great rafting experience.
  • did the one day rafting tour. exciting but safe. too bad they Dont have limited equipment for goPro
  • Biking trip was an utter disappointment. Marketing material says biking on secondary roads and natural trails. Instead, the tour company took my family and me, including two young girls, on highway roads with sharp curves and steep hills. A cement truck turning a corner nearly took us all out, at which point we called it a day. First and only bad experience in an otherwise great country. I don’t recommend this company.
  • I’ve booked a package tour with Rios Tropicales, which wasn’t cheap. And loved everything about the trip till almost very end. I gave them address of my hotel in Alajuela. For some reason they told me that they will drop me off at a restaurant not far from it. I thought maybe they don’t bring guests to that area. But after we spent 1,5 hours bringing EVERYONE else in the group to their hotels, last one being only 10 minutes away from mine, I asked Kevin the guide on the bus if they were serious about just dropping off a solo traveling girl on the rainy night at a random place. He said yes, and I shouldn’t be complaining, cuz the driver and him are having it worse and need to go back to San Jose. At this point my hotel was just 5 min away by car. “Great hospitality” Rios Tropicales. This last detail completely spoiled my trip. Very disappointed!
