  • There is a Starbucks and McDonalds and the employees speak English. This is where the Teatro National de Costa Rica is located and within a few blocks are museums and the central market.  more »
  • The center of all that is San Jose. Several attractions, restaurants and shopping are within walking distance. People watching at it's finest!  more »
  • Plaza of the culture is practically the heart of San Jose, here you can see a number of passers-by, all kinds of people, students, workers and tourists, among others. This square is located in an area full of restaurants, cafes, shops, pharmacies, building several museums, theatres and Government institutions. The famous national theatre is located on the South side and on your side this is the entrance to the Museum of the Bank. Within my recommendations, is to enjoy the place but with precautions, because they can be object of robbery or assault if they have any article of value.

  • This is a meeting place for a variety of crowds, it's usually packed around noon and later in the afternoon. It's located right next to the National Theater, and the Gold Museum. From here the National Museum is about five blocks away, making it a nice stop if you are walking in downtown San José. There's plenty of coffee shops and fast food restaurants around it. Probably the best place to eat here is the café in the theater.
  • The area has potential but there are no public toilet in central San Jose and rubbish and litter is everywhere because there are no recepticles .. and the place smells from the urine.. could be solved with some common sense management by the mayor of municipality
  • Home of the gold Museum and 2 million pigeons. A good place to people-watch. The National Theatre is also here and is a must-see for tourists.
  • It has been recently redesigned. You will love the kids playing in the water fountain. Nice place to take pictures. Mind your belongings, though.
  • You never knows what can you see over there. Just try not to crash with the people walking around and take care of your wallet. Historical place close the National museum. I like it. Walking around the plaza is for free lol. You have to have a selfie in there of course... You didn't visit the capital of you haven't been here.
