Parque La Sabana, San Jose

4.0
#1 of 10 in Parks in San Jose
Explore the area that Costa Ricans call 'the lungs of San Jose' during a visit to Parque La Sabana, a large metropolitan park. The 72 ha (177 acre) park is known as the home of the country's national soccer stadium, as well as many other sports facilities, including running and skating tracks, and soccer fields. Formerly the site of the country's main airport, the terminal building still stands, although it has now been converted into the national art gallery. Take a stroll around the artificial lake and through the wooded areas, spotting native plant life and birds. Make your San Jose itinerary with Inspirock to find out what to see and where to go.

  • The biggest park in San Jose...!! Great place to exercise or simply take a walk. The park has soccer, basketball, softball, and baseball fields as well as a skate rink and various tracks for running. The park is well maintain with easy access from any part of the city.
  • Family place! Nice to do excersise and go try to scape of the city stress! If you play Pokemon Go has a lot of stops and Pokemons! :)
  • It's the best place in San Jose if you wanna go for a walk or a stroll. It's safe enough as to take your children along, I usually take my 2 year old over there and he really enjoys running around.
  • Amazing! Large and open with areas for just about everything. There's futbol, basketball, volleyball, trees areas for shade, picnic areas, pathways, a lake, mountain views, vendors selling fresh squeezed juice and grilled pollo on a skewer.
  • A bit dirty but very nice to take a walk in the mornings
