  • This is an excellent rescue ranch for not only toucans, but all costa rican animals in need of help. It was clear that all the staff there really cared about the animals and giving them the best life ...  more »

  • Toucan Rescue Ranch is awesome. The staff is really friendly and knowledgeable. They don't let you touch the animals because it will stress them. Breakfast with baby sloths was a once in a lifetime experience and definitely worth the money. A must see attraction if you are in the area.
  • This was easily one of my favourite experiences in Costa Rica. Located outside of San Jose, it was not too difficult to get to. The guides are knowledgeable and the animals are clearly well taken care of. The Toucan Rescue Ranch focuses on rehabilitation and release, with a few animals as permanent residences due to being unable to return to nature. I got the "slothies and coffees" tour which includes coffee and extra sloth viewing time, and while more expensive than a regular tour, was well worth it. If you are looking for something to do in Costa Rica, this is well worth the time.
  • Best part of our first trip to Costa Rica. Be sure to consider taking in their ranch house experience. 3 days, 2 nights sleeping in their guest house, getting to know the fabulous staff, and gaining insight into the care that goes into rehabilitating the animals and birds in their care.
  • If you have a few hours to spare, this is a great little day trip from San Jose. Sloths, monkeys, toucans, parrots, owls, and so many other creatures being rescued.
  • Asombroso! You must venture here if you can. The tour was entertaining and very informative. I went by myself but it’s great for adults alone or groups with children. All proceeds go to maintenance of the ranch! Please support!
