  • On several occasions, in television programs on tourism in the world, in our native Cordoba, we've had the opportunity to see pictures of the Arenal hanging bridges. They struck us, and put us objective visit them when we had the opportunity to travel to Costa Rica. This could make it (my Spouse and me) in February 2017. As set out in our itinerary, on a certain day we would search for the hotel to move to "Mystic, Arenal hanging bridges". After breakfast, we were ready at the reception waiting for the van. To be honest, we had a mixture of anxiety and fear. Television images had been added some data of height and length of some bridges, that we began to worry about a little, and some doubts began to appear, we encourage us to cross them?, we were talking about the issue, when transport had to begin to leave doubts aside and get ready to experience, that we had come to that. Weather conditions were not very favourable, it was cloudy and in some sectors of the road it foyer. Luckily, when we arrived at the place, already not it rained. While the guide towards the relevant formalities for entry, provechamos to take some pictures, and mainly that of an arc which should have as background the Arenal Volcano. Which was not possible, the cloud cover that had kept it hidden throughout the morning. Once the Guide set out the means necessary for watching the birds and other animals during the journey, we started the tour. And began dazzling, soon we are driving along trails surrounded by impressive tropical forest. Path with climbs, drops and curves, every step the images were changing. To this we should add the different sounds that emitted the birds and other animals that roamed by the place. The ear expert guide and with an enviable visual acuity, soon identified the place where there was a bird, to which we could see with the naked eye or with the help of some of optical carrying. The Guide explained to us in detail the characteristics of: trees of great height, plants typical of the area, birds and animals that lived in the surrounding area. In many cases it helped with illustrations, which gave more value to the transmission of knowledge. In the first section of the route, we passed some fixed bridges, until we reach the moment of measuring our courage. The guide told us that we were next to the first suspension bridge. A sign indicating "bridge view Arenal-length: 75 mm - height: 45m". The guide told us: do not be afraid, they are very safe. To complete the picture, another group was ahead of us and we could see how the bridge was moving. Certainly adrenaline we should have risen a lot, but wow! We said we have come to this, cross the bridge and walk above the tops of the trees and there were. Previous photo for graphing the big time, we began the crossing very slowly trying to forget where we were and trying to enjoy the beautiful jungle scenery, until we reach the other side. Already with more confidence, we cross the other bridges, but there was one that almost led me to the initial state, "bridge of the cataract, 92 m long and 45 m high. When I was going through it, I had the feeling, that moved more than others. Then a video of my Spouse, would confirm my perception. During the tour we could see: snakes, spiders (large), giant ants (2 to 3 cm long), monkeys, squirrels, various types of birds, a migratory bird (not typical of the area), sloths, etc... After walking more than 3 km, we arrive at the end of our visit to the bridges. Lived can qualify it, as a wonderful adventure!, in a stunning jungle environment, which we enjoyed to the fullest, when we were convinced that we could overcome our fears and fears. We can let us mention our guide (Miguel), which at more than convey part of their knowledge, encouraged us permanently, so that we can achieve our goal, visit a beautiful as impressive ecological reserve, very well preserved and protected . Costa Rica, followed us surprise with its stunning natural beauty.
