  • Our family enjoyed our visit to the Osa Wildlife Sanctuary. Our favorite exhibit was the 2 Toed Sloths. It was a educational tour and an enjoyable morning. It is only accessible by boat but that added...  more »
  • We were there mid-October and it rained heavily, making the whole trip more uncomfortable and unattractive. But well, it can slightly :-) due to bad weather we have nobody the sanctuary as a very dark place perceived ...die were employees or the volunteer effort to tell us the story of animals and why it was decided, it cannot be more in the freedom to dismiss. The cages seemed to be very small and it the thought pushed on, why was limited at all the available space, placing the animals on to kleinenKäfige! After it is Yes to permanent residents is... so to speak... I found very bad! Otherwise I think that commitment & equity initiative positive always is!

  • This is s place of love. Animals r treasured gifts at Osa. A place where the fauna and the flora r respected. I keep going back because the work there is difficult but very rewarding. I see Sanctarios all over NA. And I am an animal professional handler, clinician and Wildlife Rehabilitator. I am taken back by the dedication of the staff. They work for one thing - animal welfare.
  • We visited the sanctuary in April 2017. There were three monkeys (one very friendly), one farrett, three sloths, green macaws, scarlet macaws, two white face capuchins, and not much else. The animals (with the exception of the monkeys) were kept in mediocre cages. It was very apparent the volunteers loved the animals that were there. We were given a very long story about the importance of not posting on social media due to the restrictions in Costa Rica. They ask for a "donation" of 25.00 per person. It was hardly worth anything. I expected a sanctuary to be a place where animals were free in their environment and able to live a full life. This was not a place like that. It was more of a haphazard zoo.
  • Is a touching encounter with sad animals that now found love, hope and caring hands. Is a wonderful approach to wildlife and an educative experience.
