  • We visited the sanctuary in April 2017. There were three monkeys (one very friendly), one farrett, three sloths, green macaws, scarlet macaws, two white face capuchins, and not much else. The animals (with the exception of the monkeys) were kept in mediocre cages. It was very apparent the volunteers loved the animals that were there. We were given a very long story about the importance of not posting on social media due to the restrictions in Costa Rica. They ask for a "donation" of 25.00 per person. It was hardly worth anything. I expected a sanctuary to be a place where animals were free in their environment and able to live a full life. This was not a place like that. It was more of a haphazard zoo.
  • Is a touching encounter with sad animals that now found love, hope and caring hands. Is a wonderful approach to wildlife and an educative experience.
