Magical and wild, Chirripo National Park contains the tallest mountain in Costa Rica, which rises to a height of 3,820 m (12,530 ft). Five ecosystems flourish here and offer visitors a look at stunning changes of vegetation--from wet tropical forest to subalpine wet forest. While climbing, you can appreciate sweeping vistas stretching as far as the eye can see. Wear clothing appropriate for cold weather, shoes suitable for rugged terrain, and keep in mind that you'll need good hiking equipment and advanced skills to safely scale the park's soaring peak.
