  • This quiet park has fantistic birding. We had Giovanni Bello as a guide and he is fantastic, top notch and very nice guy to boot. Not many people there even though it was the weekend. Some of the best...  more »
  • For someone who wants to enjoy good, easy, safe, hiking, Tapantí is the place. Seeing the Reventazón River totally unspoiled is by far the main attraction of the place. We had a zillion boulders to ch...  more »
  • Tapanti is a national park located in Orosi of Carthage, in an area that has the highest average rainfall in the country (by which I recommend to go prepared with layers). You can enter in any type of vehicle to the same. Upon arrival you will find a lounge where you can know a little about the flora and fauna of the place. After this you can tour the Park by car (if you wish) and then stop at each of the different trails that you want to walk. The Park has 4 extensive trails and in each there are bathrooms and ranches. During the tour you can see wide variety of fungi, plants, drops of water, a majestic River, and a spectacular waterfall. In general, it is a wonderful place to go for a walk to admire the nature and breathe fresh air.

  • This park will make you feel as far from the city and its complications as you can get. Perfect for exercising and hiking if you feel like it. One thing I would’ve liked to know before my first visit was that there’s a river and you can take a swim in it. Also it is not cold, on the contrary, it is very humid, so wear some shorts and light clothes. The chance of it raining is very high, it’s best to visit early in the morning. 4x4 vehicle recommended!!!! A normal vehicle will not get there, at least not without complications or damage.
  • Nature beautiful location. Beware of road pot holes that can get you stranded with broken tires and rims. Happened to me.
  • Nature everywhere, high mountain forest
  • Awesome trip, we hike the easy and medium trails. Both actually are pretty easy, coming back to do the rest for sure.
  • Very beautiful national park. Was quite isolated and less touristy, but still had great hiking trails down to the river and up through the mountains. A little tough to get to, but its worth the trip!
