Hot Spring Spa Must See
Soak in the volcanic surroundings at Tabacon Hot Springs, a spa resort in the heart of Costa Rica's rainforest. The five-star complex provides luxurious and relaxing experiences in a natural setting, right at the base of a mighty volcano that destroyed a nearby village in the 1960s. Dormant for the last few decades, the volcano now provides a scenic backdrop for five different hot springs, with temperatures ranging between 25 C (77 F) and 50 C (122 F). Naturally heated by the volcanic soil, a thermal river flows through the resort and forms several small waterfalls and swimming pools. Browse the website for one-day passes, special packages, and onsite accommodations. • Without a doubt are the best thermals in the area, they are surrounded by lots of nature and unlike other hot springs are more private, if you want to relax this is the best place

  • Amazing location and Hot Springs. Buffet is above average, Prices are on the higher side. Anyway, definitely worth to spend a day here relaxing in the thermal waters of the Volcano
  • This place is absolutely amazing. You should really come here if you're in the area. They offer day passes which include lunch and/or dinner.
  • You have to visit this place! This was a highlight of my trip to Costa Rica. We had an evening pass which included dinner. The hot springs are amazing. We walked to the top and then to the bottom and back to the top again - stopping along the way to get in wherever it looked good to us. It's stunningly beautiful and incredibly relaxing. I've never seen hot springs that flow in a creek and over waterfalls. Dinner was also outstanding. I have many food restrictions and the staff was great in helping me make safe choices. They even cleaned the grill and greased it with oil before heating my meat. Normally they use butter. My husband had a fresh made ceviche dish and he said it was the best ceviche he's ever eaten. The dessert choices were scrumptious looking. It would be hard (and unnecessary) to pick just one.
  • Greatest place on planet earth. When I think and look back at my time there with my wife on our honey moon I wana cry from the memories. One of the most romantic beautiful well made well ran resorts / hot spring in Costa Rica. If I could give 10 stars I would without a doubt. If you don’t visit and use this resorts facility while you are in Costa Rica your a fool. God bless this beautiful place and god bless all the staff who have the wonderful opportunity to run such a beautiful perfect resort. Only tiny Minor thing was it’s hard to find some privacy as the springs are pretty much full with tourist. If your looking for something a little more private go when nightfall hits - you can relax with your significant other at peace when it’s dark.
  • Definitely a must if it's your first time in Costa Rica. Extremely well kept grounds, beautiful scenery, lots of spring areas, interesting wildlife like hummingbirds and iguanas appear through trees. You could also go the cheaper route and just use the free spring runoff by the road, I saw plenty of locals do that :)
