  • Go and see this small gardens full of birds, butterflies and flowers. And besides, the frogs and Cayman agouti. And if you're lucky you'll see a monkey or a sleepy sloth. They also make the nocturnes. Follow the guide, patient and considerate. Even the maintenance staff makes you enjoy his discoveries. We stayed there for a very good morning.

  • Located just a few minutes outside of La Fortuna. We went without a guide and found a lot of animals on our own. It's a lot of fun.
  • We were lucky to see the red-eyed Frog, as well as the strawberry frog, a Cayman mother with 14 babies as well as a sloth, and iguanas at our leadership. It is a good introduction to the fauna and facilitates the recognition later in the wilderness. We have seen also the visit to the Indio not as corny but enriching.

  • Ecocentro Danus is a great nature reserve for seeing all kinds of hard to spot wildlife in Costa Rica. The grounds are full of wildlife that is free to come and go as they please so it adds to the excitement when you spot an animal. I highly recommend taking the guided tour. My wife and I would have never spotted nearly as much wildlife or learned as much as we did without our amazing guide Joe. With Joe's help we found tree frogs, poison dart frogs, a Jesus Christ lizard, all kinds of exotic birds, and several 2 toed sloths! Would definitely recommend this great reserve to anyone wanting to see some of Costa Rica's amazing wildlife in a natural environment without cages or fences!
  • We visited in January 2016. This center is a little jewel. You will be accompanied by a knowledgeable, friendly, bi-lingual guide. Our guide's name was Simon. There were four in our group and he took us through a leisurely tour of this little rain forest, where we saw gorgeous birds, sloths, poison dart frogs, a butterfly sanctuary, and caiman. We were introduced to a Maleku tribesman, who gave us a soulful lecture on his people and their relationship to the land they inhabit. Simon helped us take wonderful photos with a special lens that interfaced with our cell phones. I treasure this experience as special among the many we encountered in beautiful Costa Rica.
  • Wonderful tour. Elias, our guide, is very knowledgeable, friendly and has a great eye for spotting wildlife that we would have walked right past. I definitely recommend visiting Danaus when you're in La Fortuna.
  • being one of the tour guides from this center, I must say this is a perfect place for birdwatching! let your self get inspired by Nature
  • Tiny and pricey but it does have plenty animals ("wildlife" only in a rather inclusive definition of the word). More like a mini zoo than a park or reservation.
