The farm pays particular attention to butterflies, poisonous dart frogs, and snakes. The center also works as a safe refuge for wounded and sick wild animals to heal and be safely released into the wild. • Highly recommend- the guide was very knowledgeable and a nice guy. We got to get very close to the animals and get some great photos.  more »
  • I never imagined that it would divert me, assimilating the name of each animal with the character that we see in the film. In a sample of the ingenious and subtle art of baptizing the creatures with names as good as impossible, appeared Rocky Balboa, Bob Marley, Houdini, and others. These were a single cappuccino, a turtle, a caimancito, and dozens of other bugs that we observed in environments similar to their natural habitat. For these beings who pursued the suffering, who suffered pain, or endured punishments; live in this oasis is a certain fortune. Many will return to their original environment; but some whose little body will not adapt to nature, will accept his generous food, peaceful refuge, sociable peers company. Ah!, before that I forget; Madam, Sir, cradles, request the glove, require the glove, invoke the glove; the guides know giving it... Thus may pose in his hand the tiny vigorous living. They feel different, you will see. We salute to Costa Rica, by their zealous and successful task of having instilled in his people the respectful treatment to their animals.

  • We had mixed opinions before our visit, not knowing what to expect. So was it worth the visit and $25 entry? Our guide Jose was very pleasant and spoke good English. Imparting lots of interesting info...  more »

  • We enjoyed the tour of the facilities and then booked the monkey experience tour for the following day. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. This is not a zoo but a rehabilitation and rescue site for injured animals. The monkey experience tour was fantastic. It was definitely one of the highlights of our time in Puntarenas
  • Better than we had anticipated. Our guide Gonzalo was so knowledgeable and extremely patient with our 8 yr old, 5yr old twin boys and all of our questions! There is a story as to why each animal is there and what the plan is or isn't to get them back to their natural habitat. We spent 1.5hrs with our guide. Our boys absolutely loved being able to ask questions and engage with all the animals.
  • Beautifil, relaxing animal sanctuary and garden. Luis and Brian were great guides. They spent time explaining about each of the animals (frogs, monkeys, macaws, butterflies and snakes) to our children. Very informative tour. You are able to interact with and feed many of the animals. They are all rescues and yiu can tell they are truly cared for here. Great shady place to spend a morning before it is too hot and there were very few mosquitoes. Would definitely return and do one of their other adventures- waterfalls, horseback or zipline. True Costa Rican hospitality. They even gave our daughter their last batteries for her camera when it died. Highly recommend, a must do when in Herradura or Jaco.
  • We loved our tour at Neo Fauna and learning about all the incredible work they have been doing there to not only help injured animals but to also help increase the populations of endangered and at risk frogs! I would highly recommend this tour and can't wait to go back.
  • People were so nice. Learned a great deal
