The old sanatorium Durán ceased to be an interesting place to visit. Place urgent conclusion of a process of restoration (already started) and create a Museum and information center on what used to be this sanatorium in the decades that I used. The access areas are very careless and not only enclose the sadness of the stories lived there, but the of abandonment and neglect of people who graffiti-filled walls.

A mystic place full of history, a supposedly "haunted" place is a place that was a former hospital for sick with tuberculosis... a beautiful place... in which we can also go to the House of Dr. duran and the cemetery of the place... for lovers of the paranormal things which have already done research and with pretty good results... totally recommended...

The sanatorium Duran is a mystical place with a history rich in historical facts and myths. However, the current administration of this place does little or nothing to preserve the attractive place for visitors and give an added value to the place. I believe that there is only one objective to economically exploit the place without planning an enhancement that gives you future tourist projection.

Went on a Monday when they were "closed" but they actually were not closed! 1,200 colons/person, so on our way down from Irazú, I'm glad that we stopped! It's an interesting remains of what used to be a sanatorium with lots of buildings to discover. Only giving 3/5 because there was no real parking, there was a ton of construction going on, and I think because it was a Monday there were no tours or anything happening. Either way, an interesting way to spend a half an hour.
