  • Endless pristine sandy beach. The walk out to the whale tail could be very hot because there is no shade. We walked out there at 7 am (trough of low tides) and stayed till just before noon. Gentle wav...  more »
  • The place is easily accessible. 1000 colones per national adult charge. Showers and toilets at the entrance. You must arrive early to observe the passage of Moses, where the sea is divided and formed a perfect whale's tail. The walk takes about 20 minutes or more. Other beaches within the Park can be visited with the same input... Piñuelas beach is a beautiful pool to visit family. Whale watching tours are worth in and out of the Park

  • We are mixed on this "attraction", visit. 1st impression is bad: parking paying (and oppressive...), the entrance to the Park to pay, with a rather cool reception, unlike the majority of parks. The second impression is positive since the view is beautiful, great beaches and the beautiful sea. The short walk to the tip of the tail is rather nice, inquire about the tides. Swimming is beautiful, refreshing, however the snorkeling not worth the detour. However outside the period of the whales (July August September memory) => do not expect to see anything... contrary to what the majority of the guides (routard, etc.) write. There is only a period. Overall mixed so.

  • This was a disappointment. We knew it wasn't the prime time to see whales, but the quality of the water was questionable: very warm, but felt slimy. I wouldn't swim nor snorkel there. Otherwise, at low tide, had a nice walm.
  • It really was a stunning beach, we walked all alone there. But, for a next time I wouldn't pay 6$, all the beaches in Costa Rica are stunning and if you look for them more of them are deserted. However the whale tail is cool to see. Tip: watch the tides before you head out!!!
  • Amazing and beautiful beach, and what makes it even better: completely empty! You can enjoy long days there seeing the sunrise and the sunset, surfing and sunbathing and you barely encounter people during the entire day. A must-visit for everyone looking for a peaceful yet breathtaking landscape and beach.
  • Loved this park! Had no idea of all the beaches included in the modestly priced entrance ticket. Very long coastlines, with surreal views. Every angle was an awesome picture waiting to be taken. The water was very warm, and we stretches of time we were the only ones out there at midday. Here are a few tips. Tip 1: Beware of crocodiles in the mouthes of the rivers going into the ocean. Tip 2: If you do a boating tour, keep your ticket because you can use it to visit all of the beaches throughout the day. Tip 3: Come during low tide, or else you will not be able to see the whales tale.
  • Outstanding! Peaceful, nice snorkeling, no hassle.
