  • This geothermal area is a bit off the beaten track. It's going to take you about 1.5 hours from Liberia driving on decent roads. The signage for Las Hornillas is there, but its small and somewhat fade...  more »
  • I went there as a couple, we both like to try new things, but I think this place is very expensive for what you get. The trip is a 5-10 min walk, there is no one to explain what your looking at, not e...  more »
  • The place is spectacular, with many things to do. The first thing we did on our tour here was the tours over the falls. They take you to the place, way the views of the volcano are spectacular. Once there several waterfalls are known and also give you a chance to get into a pool which is delicious. You can also see the damage caused by the hurricane, and as people fight for getting ahead. Already then, turns to the complex, where the following is the hike to see the volcanic activity and the mud baths. For that first a sauna which is like a thousand degrees, but its role which is to open the pores. Then to the volcanic mud pools, it smells mean bad, but say that it helps the skin, and the process ends in a super relaxing thermal waters. Truly a unique experience and something that needs to be done, highly recommended.

  • Fun stuff to experience the mud bath and hot springs here. My wife and I came here on our 1yr Anniversary, and it was very fun. The sauna was weak, but the hot spring hot tubs were awesome! Careful, the first one is SO hot. We even got to see a Tucan here. Definitely a highlight.
  • Oh my Gosh this is one of the best places I've ever been to in my life. The mud baths were just amazing. I'm definitely going back there on my next visit to Costa Rica
  • Quite nice place, but not much to do there, entry is too expensive.
  • There is a short trail where is possible to see an active fumarole, mud pools, and sauna. You can put mud on all your body and face, wait some minutes and finally, you can relax yourself in the hotsprings.
  • A must go if nearby
