  • In general, before arriving at a place you keep certain expectations, but you think if I told you that your expectations will be exceeded with more than... Starting arriving is not so easy, because the road is not the best, but once there everything changes. Hosting was with juice coffee, I thought that was great, because input look like coffee not ends up being only the hot drink to start the day, but that you appreciate the range of options that you get through this (and yes that will see it) believe me). Gabriel was who taught us the place, not only showed it and stress it; He taught it, so we speak of as biodiversity allows to obtain a very good coffee bean, how in the long run avoid monoculture plantations is extremely beneficial to develop a good type of soil and that as in the world of wine allows you to obtain the ideal 'terroir' for the elab prayer of a quality coffee... We tried the place fruits, toured the environment and talk about what goes beyond the coffee, of as based / accomplishes all this between passion for what we do and the constant search for the development of ideas that achieve a good corporate responsibility. Place on beauty alone and speaking to savour the coffee dazzle you the kind of explanation that gives, I say literally gives you a class between the differences of the toasted, modes of preparation times, forms, website, etc... Today I see the coffee with other eyes and this was possible the reflection of the wonderful job making the Toledo Coffee Tour... (Ref: Bilingual, carries shoes and clothing repellent, comfortable on hot days)

  • A round super interesting, we really discovered the bulk of the work of the coffee in the small family farm who works on agricultural economics and plus principles. I highly recommend! Do and the lunch food is good.

  • Very unique experience. Great coffee, great coffee wine and super friendly people... who were very patient with our poor Spanish speaking skills. We may even try to squeeze in another visit before we return home
  • el Toledo ORGANIC COFFEE FARM, Atenas, Costa Rica I just can't say enough about this 7 acre family owned, self sustaining, organic coffee farm! We were fortunate enough to stay in Atenas, Costa Rica with a friend who lives there 6 months out of the year! He knows the Calderon family well and recommended we take the tour! We began by learning how the farm came to be organic and the hardships the family experienced with that decision. Next we watched Gabriel roast coffee. It was simply fascinating learning about how the same bean can be so different just by keeping it in the roaster a moment or two longer. Then we sat to taste the difference between the roasts... my favorite was the dark roast (and the medium roast)! Next we toured the farm with Brian, as we walked we learned how each action of the farmer works with nature... not against it! This is one of the many reasons this family has been so successful with their coffee farm. Please check out their website for more details (as I'm certain I'm missing many) and be sure to pick up some of their coffee when you can!
  • Me And my Partner volounteerd at El Toledo coffee farm two years ago, it is a beautiful family run business and we loved every second of it, we would love too go back soon!!! The coffee tour is great and Gabriel and Don Gerardo are the best at what they do, and Sole's cooking is the best!! We Highly raccomend. Lucy & Michelangelo
  • Small family owned farm that is on the Waze app which makes it easier to find. Very knowledgable & interesting. We walked through the coffee fields & saw how they produce their coffee. Their coffee is wonderful & we buy it often.
