  • I recommend starting with the 9AM boat tour, as the relatively mild sun and temps made the journey more comfortable and productive. We then toured the hacienda, the ox-driven cane juicer, followed...  more »

  • We really liked the history behind this place. We loved seeing the process of making sugar cane syrup. we also thought it was neat how they showed us the process of making tortillas. The food was good but not exceptional. And that's why I only received four stars. If you love history though it is really worth the experience.
  • We enjoyed ourself here. The spot was a bit hard to get to as the dirt road was a bit far. Highly recommend taking the tour here instead of driving there yourself unless you have an SUV. We were lucky enough to get on a private boat tour and enjoyed looking at wildlife. We caught white-faced monkeys, iguanas and lots of different birds. We also enjoyed the buffet here was yummy. It was nice to relax here while surrounded by lush forest.
  • It's a must see adventure. The wildlife was bountiful and we're here in almost 100F degrees. Left our hotel at 730am. Just got back and it's almost 2pm. Zero complaints. Nexus tour guide Ira was amazing. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. My pictures posted are only from my phone. When I get back home I will upload from my camera. Howler monkeys, white faced monkeys, 3 species of kingfisher birds, 3 herons, and of course crocodiles, iguana, and Jesus Christ lizards. Much much more.
  • The staff were great but our 9AM boat tour which is already too late in the day didn't start until 10. I thought it was over priced for what we saw on the tour compared to other boat tours we've done for less money.
  • Wonderful staff. Enjoyed the presentation on sugar cane processing. Beautiful grounds. Delicious food.
