  • Our flight from LAX got in very early and we needed to wait until 2pm to check into our villa so we circumnavigated the island stopping at places that were open early on a Sunday. The Marie Nui Botani...  more »
  • Amazing place to visit- abundant variety of tropical plants and flowers to enjoy. We stop by for lunch and the world famous cheese cake is out of this world.  more »
  • I took advantage of an afternoon in which the weather was overcast to visit these giardini...il place is cute and Nice, which also has a bar (personally I haven't picked up anything). The cost of admission is $5 to be inserted in a wooden box at the entrance. Council to devote to this site an hour to stroll around and relax a little after a day at the beach.

  • Beautiful gardens with so many lovely tropical trees and flowers. A lot of work goes into them. The cafe is a hidden gem (the name Hidden Spirit Cafe is appropriate). We had a delicious meal as well as making some purchases from their gift shop.
  • Great place to relax, eat and taken in the beauty of the Tropics! Love the fresh prawn salad! The flowers and trees were so beautiful and well kept!
  • Nice gardens to wander through. We didn't try the cafe.
  • The best place to experience the flowers and trees of the tropical Cook Islands, we walked through the vast gardens which were all well maintained and beautiful. There was a $5 donation at the entrance, which was well worth it, and a lovely cafe inside which had a great selection of salads and deserts. It was a pleasant walk through the gardens, and something that I'm glad to have visited.
  • Beautiful gardens, a must see.

Where to stay in Rarotonga

Since pristine white beaches and turquoise lagoons are never far away in Rarotonga, where you stay depends entirely on how much you want to spend. The hotels and resorts tend to cluster around the most scenic beaches and lagoons. At the higher end, luxury resorts offer pampering comfort, but often share their beaches with much more affordable accommodations. If you want to explore a certain part of the island, look for lodgings nearby: although the buses are extremely convenient, they tend to meander at a very slow pace.
