Where to stay in Rarotonga

Since pristine white beaches and turquoise lagoons are never far away in Rarotonga, where you stay depends entirely on how much you want to spend. The hotels and resorts tend to cluster around the most scenic beaches and lagoons. At the higher end, luxury resorts offer pampering comfort, but often share their beaches with much more affordable accommodations. If you want to explore a certain part of the island, look for lodgings nearby: although the buses are extremely convenient, they tend to meander at a very slow pace.

  • Epic Sunday night with a fun game of mini golf and a buffet with a band. Great music and a lovely spot. Plus there's a good range of beers and drinks to enjoy in the heat. Lovely people and we'll worth booking your Sunday spot. Cheers!
  • Had a lovely Sunday night! Live music, great food and a silly round of put-put. Staff were super helpful and accommodating to some dietary limitations in our group. Recommend showing up a bit early or booking a table to make sure you are part of the fun!
  • Just back from 26 nights in the Cook Islands. 17 of those nights in Raro. Amazing place. We arrived on New Years day and low and behold everything on the island is closed for the next three days. We couldn't get our rental scooter or get any food off the resort. So the wife and I decided to hoof it to the closest corner store for some snacks. A couple minutes into our walk a local pulls over and offers us a drive. So we jump in and to make a long story short we end up at the locals house, he gives us his scooter to use, which we kept for 17 days. This locals name is Tooks and he is the owner/operator of the Cocoputt Ale house and having met Tooks it made our trip very special. Every Sunday night the Ale house has an amazimg buffett. Be sure to make reservations. Live music. Nice people and lots of fun. Tooks also took us to a house party/jam session and we got to know some of the locals through him. If you find yourself in Raro do yourself a favor and head to the cocoputt. And if the opportunity presents it self say hello to Took, it may just make your trip. Thanks for everything Took, keep in touch and we will meet again.
  • We had fun and they had a good lunch deal while we were there.
