Black Rock Beach, Rarotonga
(4.1/5 based on 35+ reviews on the web)
A playground for water lovers, Black Rock Beach also represents a historically and culturally important site. Ask the locals about the beach's history and legend, which includes a belief that human spirits depart from this part of the coastline. At one end of the beach you can find large basalt rocks sitting on the edge of the ocean, serving as convenient and all-natural diving platforms. While the beach offers swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking, nearby recreational facilities allow you to play tennis, volleyball, or golf. • If you like to take photos or videos or if you just like to see beautiful places, then this beach is a must: the contrast of greenish blue sea, black rocks and yellow sand is just great!
  • We visited this beach to have a swim and snorkel when it was windy on the other side we were staying. Nice drive and easy parking. Depth varies with tide of course, but certainly worth the effort to v...  more »
