Aitutaki Lagoon, Aitutaki

#1 of 6 in Beaches in Cook Islands
Must see · Beach · Nature / Park
Dive into a veritable aquarium at Aitutaki Lagoon, a pool of turquoise seawater surrounded by white sand and lively coral reefs. The water is so clear you will not need snorkeling gear, but certainly consider taking it if you want a closer look at the exotic marine life. To reach this lagoon, look for a boat tour that stops by, rent a private boat to drop you off for the day, or stay overnight at the nearby resort. The resort also provides a restaurant and restroom facilities. Use our Aitutaki sightseeing planner to add Aitutaki Lagoon and other attractions to your Aitutaki vacation plans.

  • This is by far the most beautifulest place in the world, a stunning lagoon, friendly people, fantastic food, awesome activities, but also a great place to unwind and relax. I can't say enough about...  more »
  • Well worth an afternoon or even week sitting beside this lagoon. It's the clearest in the world and preatiest for a reason.  more »
  • A lot of pride on display as we went around the lagoon. Locals are kind happy and friendly. This is definitely a stunning location on the Pacific.  more »
  • I've read all the reviews before i came and thought i have to try this little piece of paradise regardless. I absolutely loved the stay and that is all credited to the manager Greg. He is an asset to the hotel and will only improve this to be the best on the island. Will definitely go back knowing Greg is there and making sure every guest is well accommodated
  • Beautiful resort, could not stop smiling when we got there. Lovely and helpful staff, nice breakfast and fun dinner and show. Would love to stay there again!
  • The staff really look after you. Included access to water sport gear. And free entertainment
  • Fantastic location, OK to good rooms but service while friendly with very limited effort; low light was the breakfast with lots of items past due date and hardly any fresh food (I know it's a remote island but one can surely do more) - never had a worse breakfast and I stay in Hotels quite often... 😉
  • Best staff and experience honeymooners could ask for. Managers even come out and talk to you like it's a average day and the normal thing for management to do. Amazing place and so secluded. Best food is just down the street in walking distance at Boat Shack.
