Specialty Museum
Enter Couvent ecce homo through an impressive red-brick and whitewashed-stone facade, and examine five centuries of architecture and artifacts. Originally built in 1620, this restored Dominican convent houses a collection of items including artworks and vestments, all telling the story of its colonial history. Much of the stone used in the convent and chapel was quarried in the region's richly populated fossil beds; look for ammonites and fossils embedded in the floors and altars. • It is a place which is worth visiting near Villa de Leyva. It is exactly in the municipality of Sutamarchán. It is an ancient convent of the Dominican community, from the colonial era. It has one of the best maintained gardens I have ever seen. However, I think that with a minimal investment could improve the display of parts that there have. The type of signs, the identification of pictures, etc. Pros: + is a historical place + it is very nice and very quiet cons:-far, you have to hire a taxi to go from Villa de Leyva (COP $25,000-2017-)-parts are neglected.
