Specialty Museum Museum
Enter Couvent ecce homo through an impressive red-brick and whitewashed-stone facade, and examine five centuries of architecture and artifacts. Originally built in 1620, this restored Dominican convent houses a collection of items including artworks and vestments, all telling the story of its colonial history. Much of the stone used in the convent and chapel was quarried in the region's richly populated fossil beds; look for ammonites and fossils embedded in the floors and altars. • A few km from Villa de Leyva is this convent. Maintained very well worth a visit if only to admire the beautiful plants and flowers that are inside. Is organized as a House Museum. Surrounded by greenery in a quiet amazing. Entry of 5000 pesos.

  • The monastery is situated on a hill and offers a beautiful view to the mountains and the Valley. Everything is the Spaniards very rural and probably little different than at the time. In the courtyard are lovingly cherished and nurtured many subtropical flowers gathered. The few testimonies of proselytizing, let's not forget the pain of the indigenous one — the Conquista with the Inquisition in tow were cruel.
