Trip Planner: South America / Colombia / Narino Department / Tuquerres / Nature / Laguna Verde Volcan Azufral
Known for its cloudy green waters, Laguna Verde Volcan Azufral takes the spotlight as the main attraction at the semi-dormant Azufral volcano. The lake was formed in a crater, with the iron and sulphur content imparting a distinctive color. Wear proper hiking shoes to take advantage of the popular encircling trails. You can trek along the volcano's rim, and climb to the 4,070 m (13,353 ft) summit to take in the spectacular landscapes, vegetation, and wildlife. Our Tuquerres vacation route planner makes visiting Laguna Verde Volcan Azufral and other Tuquerres attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

As a recommendation, arrive early, type 8 or 9 am so that touch them a good climate as the day progresses is it getting cloudy and cold. Do the walk with comfortable clothes, use CAP, Sun block (lot) and carry a diver to keep warm when you are cold, good water and some food for the journey, remember to save for the return which are another three hours of return. When one arrives to the vantage point there are two routes to go down to the lagoon, a very sloping wall with some stairs and swamp or the trail a little longer but safer, if they wish can take this alternative to climb and avoid escalation. And as I say, is a wonderful place, just up the Lake gives you a satisfaction that feeds your soul.

There you can take a taxi for 20000 cop directly to the park entrance on the square in front of the "Alkosto" (for 50000 cop the taxi's waiting on you and train you Tuquerres). From 7: 00 a.m. apparently also buses from the "Parque Bolívar", but not until all the entrance of the Park. We have taken a taxi to the park entrance at 6:45 so, have registered us there (is free) and have gone off about at 7:15. After about 1 1/2 hours, we have reached the edge of a crater of a volcano. There we ran about 20 minutes up to the Laguna. When the down run I would recommend the way left and not right the steep Treppebstufen down. They are extremely slippery. The way to the lagoon is quite muddy, so footwear put on! Arrived at the Laguna you can left a piece of the lagoon along go or right to the mudpots. The ascent again takes of the Laguna to the crater rim approximately 30 minutes (depending on condition). Relegation from the crater to the entrance of the Park takes about 1 hour. From there from kan you either take a taxi (unless it has been waiting for one) or walking back after Tuquerres, takes about 2-3 hours We were taken as they progress down a nice Colombians with the car. Partly also from San Roque after Tuquerres buses for 1000 cop, but I don't know in which regularity. Tips:-I would recommend you to go from Tuquerres to Laguna. Firstly you can air-condition then a little at the height and secondly you can start early in the morning. We have stayed at the hotel "Inti Ande" for 30000 cop for a double room with bathroom. -Early start in the morning. We started at 7: 00 and were shortly before 9 o'clock on the volcano. At approximately 11: 00, the fog came and at noon it rained then... - boots, because the descent to the lagoon is muddy. -Warm clothes (the best onion principle). -Rain cover not forgot the Wettee can be very changeable. -Food and enough beverages take (much drinking helps prevent also the altitude sickness). -Sonnebschutz bring, because when the sun shines you can quickly burn (reflection from water and white beach). Conclusion: I find highly recommended a visit to the lagoon. The lagoon itself, but also the special flora and the view over the Valley are fascinating. The way to the edge of the crater is wide and slow rising and therefore good to commit. If you have problems with the height, should be air-condition is first.

Important to go with time and early order to keep in place a good time, without desire to lose the carriage or to get the night
