Valencia Brook's Waterfalls, Santa Marta

(4.2/5 based on 100+ reviews on the web)
Bask in the pristine, refreshingly cool cascades of Valencia Brook's Waterfalls. The fresh water at the falls acts as a huge reward for the 15-20 minute trek it takes to get to this hidden gem from the town. Though the waterfalls themselves are smaller than other falls in the country, the large, crystal clear pools of water they form are excellent for swimming in. Climb further up the rocks for better and better swimming conditions the higher up you go. No need to overdo sunscreen as this area is naturally canopied by leafy trees. • From the parking lot begins a walk of about 30 minutes for a track that passes in some parts by the bed of a river stone, dry part and part with a water slide of 10 to 20 cm. Almost the entire route is in shadow, which is important for the intense heat of the region. At the end of the trail to a waterfall very pretty and great for a refreshing bath. For anyone who doesn't want to walk there is rent of horses. We did the tour along with the beach of Guachaca by 23,000 COP ($ 25).
