  • In the city, going to the Park of the bride and groom is a plan. It has variety in restaurants and bars. Walking the Park and the surrounding streets is nice at night. The number of people who will see and lights that adorn it make a stop for tourists almost as mandatory. By the amount of restaurants and bars that have the area, can be found everything, food economic and not both, domestic, imported beers and cocktails.

  • It's a place where you can find many places for a very good dinner and also to find some drinks. There is in the center of Santa Marta and there you can see the oldest style of the city!  more »
  • Safe place to visit and have a couple drinks. Mostly European tourists and taxis stop by the edge so no need to walk far to get home.  more »

  • Nice park in the city center with a bunch of restaurants (if there during midday, ask for the daily menu (menu del dia) to get a better price on your lunch)
  • Center of Santa Marta, a lot of life in the weekends and pretty busy during weeks nights as well. Bars and restaurants in every corner. Great place filled with music. When you visit Santa Marta try staying around this area. We stayed in an Airbnb 1 min from the Parque (park) and had a blast.
  • This place is close to everything you are looking for, bars, clubs, restaurants and also it's very close to the sea, nice place to hang out with friends and if you are lucky enough, you will be able to enjoy a live music
  • Safe place in the middle of historical santa Marta. Grab a beer and enjoy the music while you chat with your friends.
  • Lots of people watching to be done. Plenty of restaurants and bars for adults. Not really kid friendly.

Where to stay in Santa Marta

No matter where you stay in Santa Marta's historical center, you'll never be more than a few minutes' walk from the beach. The old town offers countless accommodations, ranging from energetic youth hostels to cozy, family-run inns. Look to the seafront just outside of the historical center for luxury hotels and beach resorts. For a quieter experience, stay in the nearby beach town of Taganga, just north of Santa Marta.
