Centro Historico Santa Fe de Antioquia, Santa Fe de Antioquia
(4.2/5 based on 160 reviews on the web)
The region's oldest settlement, Centro Historico Santa Fe de Antioquia retains the character and feel of a centuries old Colombian pueblo. Whitewash houses line the narrow cobblestone streets as you head towards the main plaza, the social center of the town. See the Puente de Occidente, a suspension bridge over the Cauca River and one of the longest in South America. Expect to feel the heat a bit more here as the town sits in a valley between the Cauca and the Tonuzco River. Head here from Medellin via the Tunel de Occidente, the largest tunnel in South America, making for a quick and easy day trip getaway. • A magical place, the building lights laa, laa streets paved. The churches and the kindness of the people. But it should improve very much. Too much noise for motorcycles which are driven in a little responsible. There are no sites for shopping, handicrafts and others. Very little police presence. You should have more infrastructure for the tourist information offices tourist. Etc

  • I've been to Santa Fe de Antioquia on several occasions, since in addition to providing a location near to the city to take the Sun and vacation, you can enjoy also of its architecture which is mostly very well looked after. It is worth to walk to appreciate all its parks, churches and others. We make our visit in the middle of the week and there were few people, on weekends if you are more full. Walking should be beware of motorcycles or motorcycle taxi, pass at high speed and the platforms are narrow.

  • Visited Santa Fe of Antioquia during a morning, to see the buildings colonial and the Center historical. The town is very well preserved, the buildings are beautiful and they are not all tourist, there are some hosting Commerce, houses, schools, etc. What I liked us most were landscapes and the beautiful people that lies there, like a sennor which was drying coffee in front of the Church and with whom we talked long time, as well as some police agent with whom we talk and joke, very friendly and helpful. I recommend a visit, this more or less 1 hour and half of Medellin, a road full of beautiful landscapes.
