Centro Historico Santa Fe de Antioquia, Santa Fe de Antioquia

#1 of 9 in Things to do in Santa Fe de Antioquia
The region's oldest settlement, Centro Historico Santa Fe de Antioquia retains the character and feel of a centuries old Colombian pueblo. Whitewash houses line the narrow cobblestone streets as you head towards the main plaza, the social center of the town. See the Puente de Occidente, a suspension bridge over the Cauca River and one of the longest in South America. Expect to feel the heat a bit more here as the town sits in a valley between the Cauca and the Tonuzco River. Head here from Medellin via the Tunel de Occidente, the largest tunnel in South America, making for a quick and easy day trip getaway. Santa Fe de Antioquia is a village frozen in time, its architecture is very beautiful, despite being 51 km from downtown Medellin, worth visiting it.

It is admirable the effort made by the authorities of this city, in conjunction with its inhabitants to preserve it in good condition, so that your visitors enjoy it in the best possible way. Walk along the cobbled streets, admire the buildings dating from the colonial era, it allows anyone travel back in time and evoke great milestones in the history. Be sure to visit the Museum, enjoy the gastronomy of the warmth and genuine friendliness of its inhabitants.
