Rocky Cay, San Andres Island

4.5
#2 of 6 in Sightseeing in San Andres and Providencia Department
Landmark Tourist Spot
Gaze out over the multicolored waters at Rocky Cay, a small beach in the Caribbean. As you stand on the shore, notice the beach's distinctive shipwreck, close enough to swim to. Bring snorkeling gear to make the most of the colorful marine life swimming through the crystal clear waters, and take a pair of water shoes to protect your feet from the coral poking out of the sea floor. Keep an eye out for iguanas slinking around underneath the palms trees, just waiting to be photographed. Make Rocky Cay part of your personalized San Andres Island itinerary using our San Andres Island tour planner.

  • This is nice place to sunbathe as well as walk and swim in shallow water. Not crowded, so there plenty of room to tan.  more »

  • The main beach is nice enough, with the usual bars, restaurants and folk trying to sell you stuff that you'd expect. The donut lady is well worth talking to. We went over to the wee island which, as t...  more »

  • Nice beach to spend the day, the locals are very attentive and the drinks and food is regular priced. The sea isn't so calm and you must be careful while snorkelling around the small island and ship wreckage. I recommend spending at least a couple of hours around there.
  • Nice beach. Better enjoyed with diving shoes and snorkling googles.
  • Small and nice island. Good view from there.
  • Not that great experience in my opinion. There is a wreckage of an old ship.
