Palomino, Riohacha
(4.4/5 based on 95+ reviews on the web)
Increasingly popular with local and foreign tourists, Palomino boasts pristine white beaches and crystal clear waters. Once you arrive, you'll find plenty of activities available: join a guided hike up toward the nearby mountains or simply enjoy the calm sea breeze with a book. If you choose to swim, beware of the strong currents. Local bus transport to the area takes you past memorable scenery such as vast banana plantations and traditional local spots. Be sure to pack mosquito repellant as the insects are a constant problem in the area.
