#4 of 8 in Parks in Quindio Department
Treat the whole family to a day at Parques Panaca, an interactive, playful theme park centered around agriculture. Alongside activities such as ziplining, feeding animals, and milking cows, the park educates guests about the coffee industry. Learn how coffee workers live at work, and take part in interactive games, such as dressing people in traditional garb and teaching ceremonial dance routines. • PANACA: In detail: * suitable for all ages is suitable for families with children, people who want to discover the world of the countryside and learn about nature. * Located on the outskirts of the municipality of Quimbaya (Quindio), about 15 or 20 minutes from the village and 9 hours from Bogota about. It can be in private car or with public transport from Armenia, then take a collective to Panaca in the Centre of Quimbaya. * If you do not agree to the use of animals for entertainment or food avoid visiting this park since virtually all attractions and shows revolve around them. * Bring cash to avoid going to the only available ATM which is at the entrance and plan how much will spend since prices can be high for your budget, also is good eating very well before entering Panaca as restaurants and workplaces of comi das can be expensive. If you need to make a withdrawal do so early in the Quimbaya Center or at the entrance of Panaca. * I recommend to bring well hidden food if they want to save money, the porters reviewed very superficially suitcases. * The Park are walking in one-way shape along a trail very long with rises, slopes and curves that along with the temperature of the place leave exhausted visitors; If for some reason you can not walk long distances or work hard to suggest the use of "Moto-Chivas", carriages or rent cars baby car for trail, all for an additional fee. * Sites inevitable to take photos: El mirador, giant Panaca signs in goal and on the balcony of the dream, the mascot of Panaca, in the yipao or Jeep that is in the perform and in the shop of the carrier. * Go with clothing and comfortable shoes, bring hydration (water or juice) and sun protection. * To take pictures I recommend to take a selfiestick or to ask for help his companions or someone who will inspire confidence, since the official photographers of the Park are not authorized for that. THE good: * the views are spectacular, in the best style of the coffee cultural landscape, surely you'll love photographers of landscapes and plants. * Canopy is one of the best extreme attractions, according to Panaca is the longest in the country (2 kms), has 5 stations including a chairlift that run through much of the Park at a height of 100 meters with very fast. This experience is amazing and is very safe, I think that it's worth paying the $35000 (about 12 USD) for live it. * Panaca has spaces for extreme sports such as canopy, cable car and Tibetan bridge, all perform confidently in their structures and with expert guides. * They offer photography services at key points on the Park as extreme attractions, entry main, with some animals and characters. It is better to buy the photos in the Park since it includes printing and sending by e-mail of the digital format, while if online purchase, only will receive the latter for the same price ($14000 or about 5 USD) per photo. * The shows are appropriate for the general public, in them the human talent and animals mingle. There are theatre shows, racing pigs, troubadours paisas, canine skills and horse riding. * Something that I thought was unique was the station of sericulture (silkworm) where making this fabric is displayed in detail and in live and the life cycle of maggots, in addition there is a permanent guide in this section. * There are ecological walk free in two hours. * They have services like free paquetero, ATM, prestamocto car rental and wheelchairs, parking and pet accessories shop. * There are direct transport from the Centre of Quimbaya that leaves the user in Panaca and equal to the back door. * You learn quite of the countryside, agriculture and livestock in pleasant way. Park architecture mimics the coffee farms. * The auditoriums where did the shows of seemed large, comfortable and in good condition, recommend to locate in the upper bleachers to see better and not be so close to the speakers that sound very strong. THE bad: * there are some stations display of animals and crops, among others who were alone and for many visitors may go unnoticed, therefore more permanent staff is needed to guide and inform these sections. Souvenir shop prices are outrageous: the most economic is a $4000 machine embroidered Bracelet (1.3 USD) and the most expensive are stuffed animals that are worth $42000 (14 USD), also I do not know because they prohibit taking photos of the products. * Food and beverages are generally expensive, the only thing I would recommend to try is the "banana LAM with cheese" that costs $5000 (almost 2 USD), the Coffee Shop or the dairy and sugar products manufactured in Panaca, rest there is nothing from the other world. * Is curious and shocking to know that the water from the baths of this park, which receives thousands of people a day, according to the notices that have, undrinkable, for high water bottles they sell are so long that they do not fit under the taps of the bathrooms and can not be lle nar again in its entirety, also the water that comes out of these has an annoying flavor chemist, it will be a business strategy so that they buy your products? * Unfortunately, access to the equine show "Crossing", to the extreme attractions and others such as the carousel ponies, floats, horseback riding and use of floats are not included in all passports, bad fact to the high cost (between $54000 and $66000/18-22 USD). Cost of the photos is very exaggerated per unit, it is better to access this service only where it is difficult to take pictures of other extreme rides you can use your own camera or cell phone, to complete the photographers do not let them take photos with device outside. * Lack of hygiene in the swine and cattle station (more exactly in the stables of the goats), the smell was unbearable. * Do not accept payment card in the attractions of extreme, if you want to use them must pay cash or pay with your card or make a withdrawal in the only cashier of the Park to return to the box office. * It is forbidden to enter different food fruits, juices and water, perhaps in order to buy them in its restaurants, the worst thing is that they checked bags to all when they enter. Siege of the photographers and the advisers of the Decameron Hotel at certain points in order to sell their products is annoying, one feels almost beleaguered. Some animals situation is sad: their stables are small, dirty, it seems that never take them there unless it is for the shows, they are probably disturbed by tourists and are badly accustomed to approaching people only if you give them food authorised, which is paid separately. * The last part of the journey that goes between the canine station and corner is very long and tortuous, I don't know if they are looking for that one pay services, cable car or the Tibetan bridge that pass through and shorten the path. * There is no someone who paquetero, is attending permanently if need you touch ask and seek safety Manager for treats.

  • Great exhibitions of sheeps, cows, horses, birds, dogs and how milk products are done. Also shows of different types of bovines and horses are running once a day each. It's a great place to learn of domestic animals and their importance in our lives. There is also a canopy exploration attraction, among other treats. Otherwise I would suggest to create more packages for groups visiting the site, since each item is somehow pricey.
  • Great place to visit. You need to arrive early (by 9 am) if you want to visit all attractions. You also be walking all day long, so bring comfortable shoes and do not miss the horses show at 4:30 pm. The park is very clean and suitable for all ages.
  • A thoroughly enjoyable farm animal theme park. Don't miss the shows. Unfortunately really poor paving and pathways making getting around with a toddler in a pram/stroller/buggy very challenging. Avoid the pig section (with exception to the pig show) which was very smelly and for some reason has a dinning area and kitchen under the same roof, really disgusting!
  • An attractive place to see farm animals, animal shows, and share some time in family
  • Excellent facilities and activities, however they should offer an all-inclusive passport.
