Explore Parque Tematico Hacienda Napoles, the estate of the infamous Colombian drug kingpin, Pablo Escobar. After his death in 1993, the luxurious 20 sq km (7.7 sq mi) complex fell into the hands of the government and is now open to the public. The mansion he lived in was partially demolished, and the estate was turned into a theme park. Visit the small museum and learn about Escobar’s life. As you explore the eclectic compound, you can see rare trees and plants, admire the butterfly garden, lounge by the pool, and view a replica of Escobar’s first airplane. • In order to enjoy this park in all its splendour should be under consideration two things: having a car and pay the passport with all the attractions. It offers fun for children and adults since it has two parks of water with different slides, games and waterfalls. Tour type safari makes the experience unique, 2 museums, butterfly is also along the route and other attractions that most manage to Captivate visitors. I would recommend to improve two things: the gastronomic offer is terrible and you only find listings in English in museums.

  • They have agreements with hotels that do not comply with the reservation of the client and service not interested at all. Hotel del Lago. Disastrous

  • A plan to enjoy and learn. A park with many animals, good restaurants and much history. The swimming pools are the most. It is worth paying the extra for entering the Victoria falls.

  • Hacienada Napoles is an amazing place. Pablo Escobar's ranch is more than 3000 hectares of land, and we have only seen around 1000 hectares of land/places. It took the whole day, not by foot but by the "mini motor taxi", I recommend that you take your bike, car or the mini taxi. This ranch have custom made lake, many pools, hotel, airport (Escobar's backyard), Zoo of around 300 African species, an African museum, car museum of Pablo Escobar's car collection and even a bullfighting stadium. Midway you will see a various species of dinosaurs statue's. We took the bus from Medellin, to this place. And the road to here is amazing, going up the mountain and looking down to different small villages. I visited this place (18/8/2016)
  • This is Pablo Escobar's house. He had many but this is the one where he called home... Where his family lived...... Where he ran his empire! Now the Colombians have turned it into a Latin Jurassic Park/ Zoo/ Water park!!! Pablo imported 3 hippos in the early 80's which have now grown their numbers up to 36 hippos which are 2nd and 3rd generation from the first 3. At one point in the 90's they broke out of the property when Pablo was killed and the police had to put a few of them down as they were terrorizing the near by town. Also he smuggled many other exotic animals into Colombia. Most of which are still right here in the park. So the good people of this beautiful country decided to make lemonade instead of fur coats! The property is huge! Waaaaaay bigger than Disneyland!!! The roads that go through the park to take you to the different parts are a little over 14 miles long. The best part is there are no lines... Anywhere! Mainly because this place is quite literally in the middle of no where which is great if your a drug lord... However for an amusement park maybe not so great as its 4 hours from the major cities, Medellin as well as Bogota. The only time this place is busy is on Latin holidays where it becomes standing room only in the not 1, buuuuuut 2 water parks on the property, but any other time its a total ghost town! I really enjoyed the dinosaurs! They are quite big, and next to them they play dino noises and foot step sounds!!! One of the water parks is even Jurassic themed with dinos hanging out and pouring water all over the place. Its funny this place is nothing like what I thought it was going to be, but instead it delighted everyone with childhood magic and beautiful animals. With the big cats you can quite literally get so close to them you can hear them breathe!!! The entire time I was here all I could think about was the "one liners" from the Jurassic Park movies hahaha. Enjoy!!!
  • A Bold bad Ass!! He puts El Chappo to shame! El Chappo could be Pablo's gardener!!
  • Everything about it. Very weird feeling. But you can feel the power and ruthlessness still after so long. The strange feeling when you approach the mansion. It just puts you back in years. I loved every minute of it. The man had balls.
  • Muy lindo lugar!
