  • We went during the day from Popayan with our car rental to the PNN of Puracè and quite by accident a person stopped us at the entrance to the Park by giving us your visit to 4 different places in the park with a local guide. Then accompanied by the Guide (local indigenous extremely good, quiet and competent) that you got in the car with us went toward a cliff to see the condor, then to see a lagoon, then a waterfall passing through the midst of mixed landscapes of high altitude and tropical, and especially to an area with hot sulphurous water emergencies, bubbling mud puddles, vapours, rocks and vegetation of MOSS from the beautiful colors. Highly recommended if you want to "relax" into an environment finally without much "humans". Winning authors me advised not to go by public transport because it is less free, less constrained as schedules.

  • Without a doubt one of the best places to explore in the Cauca. It is a national Natural Park, very large, with many places to visit. In the lower part you can see the thermal color, waterfalls and make watching the condor of andes in their habitat natural, something amazing. Also I recommend making the ascent the volcano Puracé. If it makes you good weather you will see at the top to its crater in all its glory. This activity requires good condition physical as are between 3 and 4 hours of ascent to 4,750 meters on the level of the sea, so have it in has before upload. The indigenous Guard will be your guides, they are super friendly.

  • We have with two couples from Popayan a ride (with taxi) made to about 3600 meters. From there we go climbing (about 2 hours 45 min up, around the crater and 1.5 hours down). Because of the tremendously hard and icy wind above, we are after 20 mins at the urging of guide vice versa. She was afraid we would be called off the steep crater wall. The top lay not in the clouds. The trip was fantastic but really heavy.
