Reserva Natural Nirvana, Palmira
Categories: Wildlife Areas, Nature & Parks
In the heart of the tropics lies the exotic and colorful sanctuary Reserva Natural Nirvana. This wildlife reserve, located hillside in the Colombian Andes, gives visitors a front row seat to the bugs, flowers, birds, reptiles, insects, spiders, and butterflies that inhabit this tropical forest. At 1,500 m (4,921 ft) above sea level, the climate is perpetually warm and wet, creating the natural habitat for all the flora and fauna. The reserve features more than 8 km (5 mi) of hiking trails and several observation platforms. At the end of your hike, you can dine amongst nature at the open-air restaurant.
