We were 27 and July 28, 2017. The site is wonderful by nature itself. We did rafting down the river and our guide, was quiet and safe, Omar was always attentive and friendly. The food is good, typical of the area. We not stayed in the reserve, since I prefer to take a hotel beside Doradal, halfway with the Hacienda Napoles. I suffered a fall in the river after stepping on a stone with mildew in spring beach. Fate as a lifeguard on the site because we had crossed the river and was with two children. The boy and another man who was there I helped at that time and were very kind. He accompanied me to exit by a bridge that was higher up. Fortunate that the injury was not serious and I am a doctor so that I knew more or less what I had and how it should act; However, the cai River as it could have had perfectly an open fracture or anything else. I broke two ligaments of the elbow and suffered a stroke joint. The really serious is that no one prepared to make a proper care of first aid in the Río Claro reserve there is absolutely. In Doradal, the nearest village to 20 minutes, or even can be x-rayed! The next thing is an hour of road. This vulnerability is unprecedented to take account of the large number of tourists who visit the river and the Hacienda Napoles. No doubt it is a pending matter. Unfortunately in Colombia the security of persons and in this case the tourists matters very little. Obviously in the park there are posters reporting that they take no responsibility for the activities of the user.

We only stayed one night in this reserve, after all this time we wanted to meet her. First for an overnight stay there are two options:-the first is staying in one of the cabins/hotels in the reserve, with a minimum price of 140,000 Colombian pesos per person per night (two-night minimum for instance accepted this option)-the second is camping in the reserve, camping equipped with toilets and options to make bonfires with kits provided by the Organization at 25000 Colombian pesos per person per night. Power supply: for those staying at the facilities of the reserve, can use the restaurant inside. For those stands can refuel at restaurants along the Street outside the reserve. (average 10000 pesos, breakfast lunch/dinner 25000 pesos average) Activities: a place for any type of group, families, friends, couples, seniors, children and young people. You can enjoy the river and its rocky and sandy beaches, you can subscribe to extreme sports (rafting, abseiling, via ferrata etc) and eco walks. Tip: mosquito repellent, sunscreen, bathing suit. Don't bring too many drinks unless you have a refrigeration system with it. If interested, is about 20 km from Hacienda Napoles. Medellin is 2:00 drive and 3:00 drive in Guatapé. They pass many Bus so there is no problem of transportation to big cities like Medellin or Bogota. We would absolutely go back to spend more nights.
