In the heart of the city's old town, Plaza Botero pays tribute to the famed works of Colombian sculptor Fernando Botero. Nestled between the palace of culture and the local museum, the verdant square serves as a hub of city activity. Wander among the numerous bronze statues by Botero and you'll get a solid understanding of the artist's famed style: his trademark sculptures feature chubby figures, both human and animal, with exaggerated, balloon-like proportions. Try striking a pose of your own in front of one of the 23 popular works on display here, or grab an ice cream and park bench to watch the crowds go by.
