  • Church dating back to the 18th century with simplicity in façade, presents a decoration that distinguishes it, stands with its two bell towers and three gates, a modest pediment; but inside they look their naves divided by arches and its roof and well-kept wooden altars and with luster that contrasts with the white of its color and gives a great appearance. The main Altar with its golden color painted columns and the white background seems that it radiates light. The Church is was full of faithful, perceiving is a deep fervour Catholic and especially to the Virgin of the Candelaria. The old baptismal font is also present. Medellín enjoys. Her life... is a trip!

  • The minor Basilica of our Lady of Candelaria or simply Church of La Candelaria, as it is more popularly known, is a temple of Catholic worship dedicated to the Virgin Mary under the title of la Candelaria. It is located in the Centre of the city of Medellín, Colombia, to the eastern side of the Park of Berrío, was Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Medellin between 1868 and 1931, when this title became the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. It is a colonial, neoclassical-style building, plant rectangular, with three naves and a transept. Its structure built in stone walls and built in cal y canto has been "patched up" throughout its history, alien to such substances. On December 8, 1970 Pope Paul VI granted the temple the title Basilica Menor.2 in 1997 the technique and materials used at the time of its construction was restored, and on July 31, 1998, by resolution 0795 was declared a national monument of Colombia building.
