  • Historic church that is in the center of Medellin. While the area not is very safe in them surroundings (and much less after them 15 hs) is very good approach is from the Museum of Antioquia and the plaza Botero, unless for know part of the history of the city.

  • It is a colonial church and Central of Medllin, or visit is inevitable, but what really caught my attention was at 10:00 in the morning, full of prostitutes on the church door looking for clients, I found unusual.

  • The Church is very beautiful and has a value historical very large for the village Antioquia. However, is located in a sector very busy and that can be dangerous to certain hours of the day, for the tourist would be best assist accompanied and avoid frequenting it in the night. The Church very well cared and centuries-old but very bad artwork surrounded by hawkers and people of bad appearance.

  • The minor Basilica of our Lady of Candelaria or simply Church of La Candelaria, as it is more popularly known, is a temple of Catholic worship dedicated to the Virgin Mary under the title of la Candelaria. It is located in the Centre of the city of Medellín, Colombia, to the eastern side of the Park of Berrío, was Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Medellin between 1868 and 1931, when this title became the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. It is a colonial, neoclassical-style building, plant rectangular, with three naves and a transept. Its structure built in stone walls and built in cal y canto has been "patched up" throughout its history, alien to such substances. On December 8, 1970 Pope Paul VI granted the temple the title Basilica Menor.2 in 1997 the technique and materials used at the time of its construction was restored, and on July 31, 1998, by resolution 0795 was declared a national monument of Colombia building.
