El Castillo Museo y Jardines, Medellin

4.4
#2 of 8 in Museums in Medellin
Charming El Castillo Museo y Jardines features a wealth of artifacts exhibited in an early 20th-century mansion. Built in the 1930s in the Gothic style of French medieval castles, the building was the home of Diego Echavarria Misas and his family until his death in 1971, when the home and many of the objects in it were donated to the state. The permanent collection occupies nine rooms and features a large selection of paintings and other objects. Temporary exhibits display the work of local artists within the impressive building. • I had heard of this site previously, we arrived by chance and it was a very good experience, well worth knowing a little history, something sad to homeowners, but see spaces, lounges, crockery, household goods and well preserved gardens they deserve the attention of who travels to the city. Other more space that offers the city to the delight of the traveller...

  • It's a cute place but when you do the tour does not let you use cameras by which I do not recommend it since one travels a lot to visit places and it is inconceivable that you can not take the memory

  • It is a pleasant walk to enjoy the gardens on a sunny day, as nothing special, very dingy and full of rickety inside...

  • Exelent place!!! This place is unique, is different and you can do many activities with friends, family or with your couple! There is a medieval gotic style castle which is a museum and there are gardens around where you can take beautiful pictures or do a picnic! If you want to do a picnic you can call them and they will have the food with the picnic basket and the tablecloth ready for you!!
  • Nothing special. I think it would be a nice place for wedding photos or a boring date but it's not a place I would visit again. Plus the people working there follow you around very closely. It was uncomfortable.
  • Good to visit the place.. Having fun in the garden as well as can see the antique pieces..
  • The guide rarely smiled and they need bilingual tour guides, you really miss out on a lot if you don't understand what they're saying. Nice garden and is a good looking place.
  • The museum is nice and sione of the antiques are interesting. However the castle itself seemed kinda fake.
