Charming El Castillo Museo y Jardines features a wealth of artifacts exhibited in an early 20th-century mansion. Built in the 1930s in the Gothic style of French medieval castles, the building was the home of Diego Echavarria Misas and his family until his death in 1971, when the home and many of the objects in it were donated to the state. The permanent collection occupies nine rooms and features a large selection of paintings and other objects. Temporary exhibits display the work of local artists within the impressive building. • I had always wanted to go, while none of my visits to Medellin had coincided with the time, the opportunity I had to be able to visit the place left me pleasant memories, is very nice and is very well preserved. Them people that guide the tour are people that know and know of what speak, what allows that any doubt is cleared with speed and the visitor can take is an image more full of the history of the Castle. The view is beautiful, and staying the afternoon sitting in the grass, worth!

  • Located a short distance walk up the hill from Santafe Mall. Like many museums taking pictures is not allowed inside but outside in the gardens it is allowed and is a beautiful place to take your photos. This museum was the mansion of a famous Colombian industrialist. The entrance fee includes a guided tour in Spanish. They host many different temporary art and cultural exhibits. They organize a cool exhibit of Christmas nativity scenes made by local and international artists from November through January. The whole place makes you feel like you're somewhere in Europe with lots of trees and a big garden. There is a small coffee shop on the side of the building that offers picnics. A good place to relax, enjoy the view and get away from the city noise.
  • Beautiful gardens, not spectacular but for the price it's a great way to burn extra time, the castle is very nice, it was finished in the '40s so its its not that kind of castle but it was a nice time.
