Cerro Nutibara, Medellin

4.1
Hike, take the bus, or grab a taxi to the top of Cerro Nutibara, where you'll find several cultural attractions in addition to the lush nature around you. One of the city's so-called "guardian hills," the summit rises 80 m (262 ft) above the rest of town. Pay a visit to the replica "Pueblito Paisa" (a representation of a traditional village), or stop by the city museum. Afterwards, you can wander the sculpture park, which features works by a number of South American artists. Don't miss the viewing platform near the village, which offers sweeping views across most of the city and landscape below. The hill itself, comprises the area for exercise, the viewpoint of the Hill and the pueblito paisa... the Museum of urban art with an economic super entry of thousand pesos per person, in the viewpoint there is a great view of the city, the pueblito paisa is a replica of the small towns of yesteryear, Church, City Hall, park etc. with traditional colonial style sale of handicrafts and the partly low typical restaurants...

It is a very nice place. In addition to representing, is in a place where you can be reached after a long walk or doing sport, or even barge, but is the Jackpot for that exercise. It is nice, it is a representative sample of the paisa people, pity that the building corresponds to the school, is without its furniture and objects, that led to restore more than one year ago and still do not return them. From there you can enjoy excellent panoramic view of the city of Medellin, can buy crafts, take soft drinks, eat, walk, rest. It is a very welcoming place

I don't know why it's a highlight in Lonely Planet, maybe because there aren't many beautiful places Yo visit in Medellin ? It's a small garden on a hill in the middle of the city with a kind of bunker of the police on the top. From there the view on the city is nice but nothing incredible, it's not very high and you have electric cables, and marts of the bunker hiding the view. On the top there is also a fake village which is supposed to be a small copy of Santa Fè de Antioquia which is 50 km from Medellin. It's not ugly but it feels completely fake, just to make tourists spend their money in one of the (not good) restaurants. Furthermore, there is a road going uphill so you have cars carrying lazy ass tourists up and down the hill... Last but not least, if you want to reach that "green heaven" by yourself, between the metro station and the place you go across 3 chaotic motorways and an industrial neighbourhood bot really recommendable. Enjoy.

Great view of Medellin. Try not to come up during a holiday when it is crazy crowded. Otherwise it's nice.

Great view of the city, I love to catch sunset there while having a snack. I suggest walking there daytime.

Excellent views on the top, it's good if you want to walk or jog, I mean to workout. On the top of this is the Pueblito Paisa, which carries many tourism. It's a beautiful hill with some green zones and little parks.

A great panoramic view point. It is possible to drive up the whole way but I recommend this as sports activity to hike up the steep curvy stairways. There are food joints, a english speaking tourist info and some friendly souvernir shops on top of the hill.
