Arvi Park, Medellin

(4.4/5 based on 1,400+ reviews on the web)
Soar over the treetops in a cable car as you make your way to Arvi Park, a hillside nature reserve looking out over Medellin. This pristine area offers you a chance to appreciate colorful butterflies and wildflowers while walking along one of many hiking paths. Make the 1.5-hour trek to the park's lagoon, or stop for a picnic on the banks of a bubbling creek. You can join a guided tour to gain access to otherwise restricted areas of the park, although your guide will likely only speak Spanish. Make Arvi Park a centerpiece of your Medellin vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Medellin holiday planner.

  • We took the Metrocable to the park, which is worth the trip alone. Unfortunately when we arrived there, we were told that the trails were not open to the public and that the only way to see the park w...  more »
  • It is a well extensive Park that allows what you want to visit and according to the physical possibilities. There are several tours to do that are very well marked. Some thematic routes are paid separately (as for example, the recovery of plantations of orchids). There are crafts shopping area and a street with several restaurants and nurseries.

  • Though I am unable to comment on the vast amount of trails this ecology park has to offer as I did not participate in travelling them, I can say that the little market is wonderful! Food vendors, jewe...  more »

  • After much encouragement from many family members, decided to visit with my father, my two sons, and niece. The experience is difficult to describe with words! The nature is gorgeous. The air is fresh clean and crisp. The food is genuine and tasty. The coffee from a lady's stall upon arrival was so very good!!!! Totally worth taking the pink bus to Comfama and to go zip-lining. We had a blast!
  • Nice place for a picknic, great view of medellin on your way up the metro cable. I also posted a video in YouTube on my trip up the mountain in the metro cable . Go to:( Medellin Metro Cable 1 of 3) theres three videos .. do a search for medellin John Visser medellin. You see multiple videos of various areas of medellin. Along with Park Arvi.
  • Parque Arvi is a large nature preserve outside of Medellin. It's reachable by the teleferico in conjunction with the Medellin metro. The ride out to Parque Arvi is worth the ticket as you get a beautiful view of Medellin and of the park. There are nature trails and information inside the park, a nice way to spend a day.
  • Parque Arví is a worthwhile day trip. Starting out on the metro, you can head up the metro cable (gondola) and enjoy super awesome views of the whole city! The metro cable up to the park is an extra ticket and well worth it. The trip from Santo Domingo to the park is about 18 minutes and goes up the stew mountainside and then across the forest with great views. If you've got 4+ hours to spend, go for it! You might be tempted to go to the small lake nearby, in my opinion, it wasn't worth the cost and time to get there. Is a very small dam with a small, dirty lake. Enjoy Colombia!
  • Good spot for a break from the city. You can reach it by taking the metro system all the way and by connecting with cable car (metrocable) to station santo domingo where you will need to switch and pay 4,800 COP one way to the last section of the cable car. This is called the tourist cable car. Once reached the station atop yo will exit and to the left in front there will be a arvi Park store where you can sign up for a 2 to 3nhour nature walk. The cost is 3,000 COP. The walk is not that interesting but ok for the price. I think the walks are all in Spanish but ask if they provide English. The length of the tour is to account for the pace of participants. The walk is a good way to have a guide and avoid getting lost while completing a walk. There is a little farmers market in front of the station where you will find snacks, food and drinks. Obleas for 1,500 to 2,000 COP. Coffee for 1,200 COP and he chocolate for 1,800 COP.
