Recinto del Pensamiento, Manizales

4.6
Take a stroll though the manicured gardens at Recinto del Pensamiento, admiring the variety of plant and animal life that have made their home here. Walk along the signposted track, up and down the gentle slopes of the eclectic manicured gardens. Stop at the relaxing Japanese-themed garden for a break, accompanied by the light tinkling sound of water flowing through fountains, and ponds filled with koi carp. Snap photos of the feathered residents of the hummingbird garden as they flutter around their feeding points. Head to the visitor center to arrange a tour of the gardens--conducted only in Spanish--to learn about the flora, fauna, and history of the plot. • It is a beautiful park; offers a walk through a pleasant forest and journey through good butterfly. Definitely on this tour the home needless through medicinal herbs that is boring and it shows the lack of properly maintained bonsai, which could become the best collection of Colombia

  • He is a journey through trees, orchids, bonzais and hummingbirds with the aim to get to know them and respect them. From children to older adults who can walk well, you can enjoy this journey that is led by a guide who explains each item. The road is good for walking, because it has tracks, so it's not a difficult terrain.

  • Beautiful place with a hotel inside and nice paths to walk. You can reserve birding tours also.
  • Great to visit if your driving around the area. Bear in mind it takes a few hours to tour
  • Great place for birding, natural walks and great coffee
  • Beautiful! relax and nature. The best colombian coffee at the "Tienda del Recinto". I recommend the brand Zafiro Coffee.
  • Good half day excursion from Manizales. The public bus goes to 600m from the entrance (busses which have the "Enea" and "Sena" in front). The entrance is 21'000 COP, including the small lift (recommend). The tour goes when enough people are around or to the full hours. Our guide explained in detail the hummingbirds, the bonsai trees, the mariposas and the orchids (in spanish). He took time to answer all questions and was very knowledgeable. Good tour however we saw more different kinds of hummingbirds and butterflies in Mindo (Ecuador).
