Catedral de Manizales, Manizales

#1 of 29 in Things to do in Manizales
Church Landmark
Catedral de Manizales remains a towering example of 20th-century religious architecture and one of the best-known places of worship in the country. On this site, churches have been built and rebuilt after natural disasters and fires since the mid-19th century. The current building was completed in 1939, designed to be earthquake resistant. The pragmatic elements of the church are balanced with the bold Neo-Gothic style and ornamental stained glass work, a decorated main tower that reaches 106 m (348 ft) into the sky, and a vast interior with many religious artworks.
