Isla de Los Micos, Leticia

(4.3/5 based on 260+ reviews on the web)
Travel to the heart of Amazon rainforest and observe various species of monkey at Isla de Los Micos. More than 5,000 monkeys from four species inhabit the forested area, alongside a number of birds and reptiles. In the 1960s, Mike Tsakilys created the 450 hectare (1111 acre) nature reserve for the protection and proliferation of our primate cousins. Activities within the reserve don’t simply revolve around guided tours of the monkeys' habitats; you can satisfy your urge for adventure by going canopy and tree climbing. See Isla de Los Micos and all Leticia has to offer by arranging your trip with our Leticia vacation builder.

  • We went there as a part of a tour to Puerto Nariño. Since we went in low season we basically had all the squirrel monkeys to our selves. You basically just stand there and they will come and climb all...  more »
  • Lovely experience with squirrel monkeys and their tiny babies climbing on you. Very cute but don't wear god clothes.  more »
  • It is a tourist park that take advantage of the tourist money and do not respect all animals. That is not a site to see monkeys in freedom. If what you want is to see monkeys in their natural habitat should seek natural reserves, that in the area there are a lot (for example Tucuchira in the community of Santa Sofia). We must prevent feed this type of businesses only seeking money and not care nothing about the quality of life of the animals.
