  • We did a one day nature trek and were showed photos of snakes, monkeys, sloths, tarantulas, parrots and caimans and were told we would see them all. In reality all we saw was ants, some birds and a...  more »

  • Had a great time on this tour! Our guide Tomas was a top notch expert, taking us around the forest and showing all kinds of secrets that it hides. He really added to the cultural value of the trip by telling us stories of indigenous peoples, how the amazon came to be, how the dolphins and monkeys were created. Great good night stories, let me tell you! I also really liked that by taking this tour we supported the local indigenous communities by staying with them, sharing their roof and and their food. It really adds to the experience while they also get some benefits.
  • Originally planned to do a 2 day tour, but spontaneously decided to add a 3rd day because we loved it so much! Tomas is a brilliant indigenous guide, who is the best story teller you'll meet. He was fun, easy going and had great wisdom of the forest. Overall we had a great time, saw a lot of dolphins and even saw sloths. It was a great tour and i can only recommend Tomas as a guide :)
  • Trip ruined by guide trying sexual actions on me. I’m a solo young female traveller (18) who had heard nothing but great reviews from this company George of the Jungle so I decided to book a three day trip into the amazon with them. I was so excited to have an amazing time and experience the amazon. I met my guide who’s name is “Miguel” and found out that I was the only one on this tour ! YAY private tour of the amazon ... winning right !? But no, first day and first activity changed that whole situation, we went kayaking into this part or the forest which was beautiful, the guide offers me a massage while we were here, he was rubbing my shoulders which then he grabbed ahold of my breast purposely, when I pull away he immediately tried to slip his hands up my pants which I reacted to and moved away as far away as possible in a kayak in the middle of no where. Uncomfortable with what just happened and stunned about what he tried to do he still approaches me and has to kiss my shoulders just to tell me how beautiful I am before we kayaked back to the community where we were staying at. Absolutely shocked and uncomfortable around this disgusting human his family then arrived and I had to meet wife and kids after the situation he just put me in ... he’s a almost 40 year old with a wife and 4 kids and he thinks it’s okay to do this to a 18 year old girl ! Disgusting. Unfortunately now I have to spend the next 2 nights and days with this sick person, I made sure I was always around other people because I didn’t want to be alone, and he was hanging out with his family so I didn’t even get to experience what the amazon was. If you look at it from a business perceptive it’s unprofessional to have your family around while you’re being paid to give a tour. When the Tour finished I was taken back to the office and given my stuff and not at all said anything to by him. The next day I went back to the tour office and spoke with the owner George about the situation. He listened and asked what I wanted to do about it. Miguel also arrives into the conversation and says that “nothing much even happened so it doesn’t matter.” I said that I would bring the police into the situation if there’s nothing you can do about it and I was then offered $100,000 pesos to leave and not say anything and no reviews because it would ruin his business. What they didn’t understand was money isn’t what I wanted (even tho I spent a lot of money on this tour and it was completely ruined so a full refund would of been appreciated) the problem is that I don’t want it happening to anyone else ever. How can they promise to me that no female or anyone would have to experience what I experienced on this tour, they couldn’t ... so here I am writing my honest review about my tour with this company hoping that no one decides to support a business that supports/doesn’t action against sexual activities/ behaviours.
  • Pretty disappointed with this operator. I paid quite a lot of money for a five day tour, but early on the fourth day the guide decided to go back to Leticia, and introduced me to my new guide - really just the son of the owner of the cabin we were staying in. This new guide apparently didn't feel like doing much, so sub-contracted me out to his little kid brother. Overall a bit of a shambles and I think Amazon Jungle Tours is a much more professional operation.
  • We had a fantastic 4 day tour of the amazon rainforest. First day we boated through the mangroves to the sambacua lodge. It had great facilities and comfy beds. Next day we went pirhanna fishing. It was a blast, bites every cast but very hard to land them. We caught 14 or so and kept nine which was good enough for a meal for us. Next day we visited a monkey rescue camp which was alot of fun. Also got to feed giant piracucu fish and hold a 16' anaconda. I was terrified. We spent a night in an indeginous village where our guide grew up. There was an elderly lady that was over 100 years old doing yard work. Then we spent a night camping in the middle of the jungle. It was a blast. Set up hammocks mosquito nets, and rain tarp. Had a great sleep. Had some caprihannas and went for a midnight nature walk to check out some scorpions and trantulas. All and all it was a great time. We had some alone time where we could go canoeing up the amazon in the local canoes. Really great experience. Would definitely recommend it. Food was good. Sleeping was decent. Bed one night hammocks other two nights. Mosquitos weren't as bad as I thought they would be but my girlfriend was getting eaten pretty bad.
