Find out whether there were really any pirates of the Caribbean at Naval Museum of the Caribbean. Inaugurated 500 years to the day after Christopher Columbus arrived in the Americas, the maritime history museum houses some fantastic recreations of the seafaring vessels that have braved the Caribbean over the centuries. Non-Spanish speakers beware: you won't find any English information, or an English audioguide, at the museum. You'll also feel the heat, as the museum lacks air conditioning. • Cartagena has a rich history, full of conflicts, pirates and gold. The museum displays wll the history, although it could be more well curated, with better images and clearer panels. I recommend.
  • It is a naval museum, presenting models and reconstructions spreading of colonization of Cartagena to the current Colombian Navy, in a very nice building. A must see!

  • The visit is very interesting for those who like history. It has since old maps to a submarine Simulator.
