Monumento a Los Zapatos Viejos, Cartagena

(2.9/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web)
Admire the quirky Monumento a Los Zapatos Viejos, also known as the "Old Boots Monument" because it resembles a pair of old shoes. The charming statue is dedicated to Colombian poet Luis Carlos Lopez and inspired by his famous poem "My Hometown." Take a photo with the large bronze boots and don't forget to read the endearing sonnet, comparing the poet's love of Cartagena to loving a pair of reliable old shoes. • Cool monument, but good luck getting a good photo with all the tourists
  • The shoes are OK, but since they are a very short walk away from the castle, you might just as well go there. The view of the shoes with the castle in the background is nice.
  • muy bonito
  • Historical place to visit, no more than 10 mins
