Las Bovedas, Cartagena

(3.3/5 based on 1,500+ reviews on the web)
Originally built as storerooms for ammunition, Las Bovedas now house bars, galleries, and souvenir shops. Built between 1792 and 1796, the 23 former dungeons attached to the protective city walls represent the last major construction effort of colonial times. Browse through well-stocked shops selling traditional Colombian merchandise, such as emerald jewelry, hammocks, and Indian textiles. • Average. Nice place and Nice. Relatively high prices. Need to negotiate (haggle). Worth it for small memories. I like to receive information from a student about the location. Worth the experience.

  • It's a pretty cool setting / building. But there's nothing special about the stores inside. You can buy these souvenirs anywhere in town.
  • Great for tourists. Not many had AC or fans. Prices vary from shop to shop. It's worth seeing if you want some souvenirs.
  • A lot of souvenir shops, fortunately done with a nice style. The building is worth visiting too, really nice colors and great, colonial vibe.
  • Prices for tourists... Nothing special about the souvenirs. The building is interesting but nothing worth visiting if it's not already on your way.
  • Great place showing the history of Cartagena
