  • The India Catalina is a character that fuses indigenous race and the Spanish, linked to the history of Cartagena de Indias as the concubine of the founder of the city. The monument represents him standing and statuesque figure, being a symbol of the city. The environment is favorable for taking pictures and is close to the walls. Recommendations:-wear a hat or CAP since there are no trees and the Sun is strong. -In the nearby Venezuela Avenue there are a few huts where they prepare food, I recommend you to taste roast are economical and delicious, (provided you don't have inconvenient to eat in public site as tables and chairs are on the sidewalk and under trees). Enjoy Cartagena de Indias. LIFE... is a trip!

  • Park located outside the walled city with few attractions and Center the statue of the India Catalina. The honor, as the story goes, is due to India's character that was kidnapped and landed next to the conquerors and learned the language as of these was the connecting link for pacification of your people. It's not a must. There are many beautiful places to see.

  • It is a monument located at the intersection of the Avs. Pedro de Heredia and Venezuela (Park from the hard port lovers) on the edge of the walled city, sculpted by Eladio Gil. Perhaps the tourists do not perceive watching it, which is one of their most prized by the inhabitants of Cartagena due to its controversial history (for many heroin and other traitor). Delivered annually in Cartagena, awards India Catalina as a recognition to the best artists television and it is the symbol of the Festival of cinema of Colombia. The statuette that is delivered in the contest was inspired by this monument. The monument itself does not say much. It is only for the photo. If we walk a little more we reach the street that leads to the Castle. If we walk we bordered the area of Gethsemane, viewing Lakes Chambacú, San Lázaro and the Bay of the Animas and ending at the historic centre (clock tower and others). Leave early with comfortable shoes, hat and water.

  • Nothing special. Across the street there is a bus stop by the river where people defecate in plain view. Wretched site, try to avoid this place, feels unsafe too.
  • It's an intersection with a small monument in a small triangle surrounded by heavy foot traffic and automobiles and motorcycles. I used this street to walk to the castle. My experiences foot navigating through Vietnam and Philippines streets made this place a breeze.
  • This a beautiful place. Let's go to met it.
  • Great experience
  • Special place to go to
