It is a small square, just outside the ramparts, relatively near the Mall Mall Plaza. It is one of the emblematic symbols of the city, square as such has no main attraction, it is just to take the picture and follow the road.

India Catalina, is a monument to visit, very important in the history of the city. Close to the San Diego Sector, and Av Venezuela. Its surroundings are very nice, lots of flowers. There are not many trees, so if it goes in full afternoon sun beats strong.

Beautiful place to visit in the morning or afternoon. It is not well appreciated in the evening. It's an easy walk from the city.

It tells you the history of the India Catalina. From this place you can take the bus Transcaribe to the bus terminal.

It's an intersection with a small monument in a small triangle surrounded by heavy foot traffic and automobiles and motorcycles. I used this street to walk to the castle. My experiences foot navigating through Vietnam and Philippines streets made this place a breeze.

Nothing special. Across the street there is a bus stop by the river where people defecate in plain view. Wretched site, try to avoid this place, feels unsafe too.

    Is... Just... A tiny monument!

Where to stay in Cartagena

Despite its status as a major tourist hub, Cartagena offers a good choice of affordable places to stay. If you're looking to splurge, consider staying at one of the town's restored colonial-era buildings, which now house boutique hotels packed with modern amenities. Alternatively, several old monasteries in Cartagena's walled colonial district offer outstanding facilities at very high prices. Budget-conscious travelers can explore the many mid-range hotels and low-cost hostels clustered in Getsemani, an up-and-coming neighborhood and center of the backpacker scene.
