Delve into the agricultural heritage of the area at Museo de la Cana de Azucar, a local museum detailing the history and processes of sugar cane cultivation. Take the visitors' trail through the plot of farmed land, passing examples of machinery used throughout history to crush the cane and squeeze the liquid from it. Sample some of the fruits of the process, with many sugary treats to try at the onsite cafe. The gardens of the colonial-era farm offer sights of butterflies and lizards, darting around the shrubs, old trees, and blooming flowers.
