Must see · Monument · Tourist Spot
Climb to the top of the Hill of Crystals to see Cristo Rey. The large statue of Jesus Christ stands 26 m (85 ft) tall and overlooks the village. Made of iron and concrete, the statue commemorates the 50-year anniversary of the end of the War of a Thousand Days, a Colombian civil war. Take it slow while scaling the hill so you can view the sculptures of Carlos Andrés Gómez, who has sculpted various works into the side of the hill. • It’s a beautiful statue. It gets cold up there! The drive up is very pretty. There isn’t much to do but you can take lots of pictures. I’d recommend it  more »
  • Visiting Cristo Rey was interesting. The only thing like it is in Brazil. If you go once, you don't need to go again. At the base of the gigantic statue is a small eatery. The view of the city is...  more »

  • Great view from both the city and the west mountain range. Enjoy a nice time of winds and awe as you stare out in to the second largest city in colombia. If you have a guide to tell you all about it better!
  • The easiest mean of transportation to get here is by taxi. There is no bus service. There are paying parking lots. The view is nice, and there is a guide to inform about the Cristo redentor.
  • I enjoyed visiting Grande Jesus. I felt closer to heaven. The atmosphere was amazing. It's a nice size hill you have to walk up. You will definitely feel it in your legs & butts! Lol🍑 They have snacks, food & drinks that you can purchase so definitely bring cash! There is also a bathroom but no tissue! Bring your own!
  • Very nice place to see the whole city. The lady there was very kind in explaining the story of the quartz mountain and the comparison to Corcovado Christ.
  • Excellent place to visit, it has a great view of the city and some good food. The drive up is good and has some police presence.
