Cerro De Las Tres Cruces, Cali

4.1
#2 of 9 in Outdoors in Valle del Cauca Department
Hike to the top of Cerro De Las Tres Cruces, where legend holds that a demon named Buziraco terrorized Cali with plague and famine. In 1837, two brothers carried three crosses of bamboo up the hill to ward the him off. Eventually these crosses evolved into the iron and cement giants you see today. Sundays here are busy with tradition, giving you a good opportunity to mix with the locals. Challenging at times, the hike to the top is best started early; take plenty of water. Once at the summit, you can buy refreshments and enjoy spectacular views over Cali. To visit Cerro De Las Tres Cruces and other attractions in Cali, use our Cali vacation builder app .

  • The Tres Cruces hike is nice for a good, tiring hour or so exercise. It's part rock climbing and part incline path. There are no signs so just ask the locals as you go for directions. It's best to go ...  more »
  • Is a place to test your physical and State despite the fact that you get tired, requires only a little effort, but it is worth climbing to enjoy the beautiful view of Cali, feel your breeze and if you're lucky and the Faraglioni are clear You can see along the Nevado del Huila.

  • I'm a sedentary person, rarely do much exercise but still went up and the first part is simple, doesn't generate much effort but when already begins to rise much more, if you can become difficult if not these accustomed to exercise, or upload or climb, when is this coming touch upload with force of arms rather than legs but there are people who come up without any problem exercise is fun and when you arrive, there are "food", not really food, is more fruit, juice, water and a delicious carrot cake!, when occurs, the view is beautiful, all cali is seen and is spectacular and the descent is much more gentle, highly recommended for those who do sport and for those who do not, also, worth. I want to back up, will do it and that I don't do sport, anyone can go both to exercise or to explore if you are tourist, it is recommended to go in the morning but there are also groups of people climbing at night and the place is not dangerous in terms of violence or theft or maintains only since many people upload. Preferred.
